Value Added measures are used to show how much progress students make in the school from the end of primary school (end of Key Stage 2) up to when they take their GCSE exams (end of Year 11).
Value Added for St Philomena's 2013 - 14 was 'Outstanding'.
The highlights are St Philomena's was placed in:
- Top 2% of schools nationally for overall Value Added. (This was based on First Entry results. Students sat their Maths GCSE early in November 2013).
- Top 3% of schools nationally for English
- Top 4% of schools nationally for Science
The Sunday Times produces a guide to schools for parents and St Philomena's was ranked 38th best of all comprehensive / partially selective schools in the country.

- School Shop
The School Shop is open twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1.00pm - 1.30pm and is located in the Red Room Foyer. The shop is for student stationery and will sell branded pens and Oyster Card wallets as well as general stationery supplies.
