Our Old Girls Association has existed in its current format since 1976 under the leadership of the Chairperson, Ms Christina Strong and a small committee.
The purpose is to provide an opportunity for all past pupils, young and old to have a means of keeping in contact with each other, the staff and the developments of the school itself within the local and Catholic community.
Each year, both a paper and digital Newsletter is produced containing articles from members about their work, travel or life- experiences, a ‘News Section’ from past pupils, (often trying to reunite with lost friends) and updates about developments within the School or the work of the Daughters of the Cross.
A reunion is held biennially, where all past pupils can meet together to celebrate Mass, take a guided tour of the school, enjoy refreshments and catch up with friends.
The Association fully supports the work of the Daughters of the Cross overseas, particularly in Cameroon where the Sisters work tirelessly to build schools to teach and support children and adults in hugely deprived regions.
The OGA also has a role to support and inspire current pupils in their career pathways and aspirations. This is an area that we are actively trying to expand.
