Dear Parents/ Carers
Re: Year 10 End of Year Examinations (Pre Public Examination 1)
I am writing to inform you that your daughter will be completing her End of Year 10 Examinations immediately after the Easter break, from Tuesday 14th April to Friday 24th April inclusive. Please note school returns after the Easter break on Monday 13th April at the usual time, and students will attend lessons as normal on the 13th April.
Below this letter is the schedule of the exams taking place. When not in an examination, students will be in lessons following their usual timetable, where they will be able to do structured revision. Revision resources should be brought into school for these sessions by your daughter.
Your daughter must attend school, in the correct full school uniform at the usual time. Registration will take place in the examination venue/s. Please ensure your daughter has all her correct equipment required for each examination as no equipment will be issued to the students.
In accordance with guidance from exam boards, before entering the exam venue, your daughter must adhere to the following exam conditions:
- She must not be wearing any type of watch.
- She must have no writing of any form on any parts of her body.
- She must remove any labels from her water bottle so it is transparent.
- She must ensure her mobile phone is switched off and in her locker or handed into Reception, not on her person, as per the school’s mobile phone policy.
- She must not have her airpods on her person.
- She must leave her calculator case in her bag.
- Bags will be held in a locked room at the back of the Hall.
- She must attend in full uniform, including the correct school bag, shoes and socks
Staff have shared Personalised Learning Checklists (PLC’s) and specific guidance on exactly what will be assessed in each examination. Feedback from these examinations will be given to students once marking and moderation is complete, so students are aware and can work on any knowledge or skills gaps before starting Year 11. In some cases, should underperformance be significant with two or more grades below target, further assessments will need to be re-sat by the end of Year 10.
I wish to thank you in advance for your support in our continued partnership in your daughter’s education.
Yours faithfully
Mrs R Donohue
Assistant Headteacher of Assessment, Recording and Reporting
Year 10 PPE 1
Tuesday 14th April until Friday 24th April 2026
We know how important your PPE examinations are, and we want to make sure you feel supported and set up for success throughout the exam period.
- You’ll come into school as normal during the PPE examinations period - this keeps routines and focus in place.
- When you’re not sitting an exam, you’ll go to your usual lessons, but these will now be guided revision sessions - time to get extra help, ask questions, and focus on preparing for each subject.
- Exams will take place in MTH and MTX.
- You should be at the venue 10 minutes before the start of the exam.
We know you’ve worked really hard to get to this stage, and this plan is designed to help you make the very most of your exam preparation with your teachers on hand to support you every step of the way.
