Dear Parents/Carers
I am writing to share with you the excellent achievements of our young people as they celebrate their GCSE and BTEC outcomes, marking the official end of their time at Key Stage 4.
The results were strong across all subjects, despite the many challenges faced and the external decision to bring outcomes back in line with pre pandemic standards of 2019. Many congratulations to all.
The school is required to collect post 16 destination data to be shared with the Local Authority, if your daughter has not already informed the school of her intended post 16 destination, please can I kindly request that the following is completed Google Form so the school has an accurate and up to date record.
As a community we are extremely proud of the achievements of this cohort. Very well done to all the young people celebrating today, it is truly well deserved.
Congratulations to Year 11 students for their GCSE and BTEC results. The headline figures from today's results are as follows:

GCSE and BTEC Results
● 97% of students achieved 5 or more passes at grades 9-4
● 83% of students gained 5 or more grades 9-4 including Maths & English
● 32% of all grades achieved were at grades 9-7
● 93% of students achieved an 9-4 grade in English Language
● 95% of students achieved an 9-4 grade in English Literature
● 28 students achieved at least 1 top grade 9 in English or Maths
● 97% of students achieved Distinction* Star- Level 2 Pass across the three BTEC courses, in BTEC Sport, BTEC Business, BTEC Health and Social Care with a 100% pass rate for all.


Notable Achievements
● Lavinia Zimarino achieved 11 grade 9s and an A grade for Additional Mathematics
● Julia Kuras achieved 8 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s, one grade 7 and an A grade for Additional Mathematics
● Maxine Appiagyei achieved 8 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s, 1 grade 7 and a B grade for Additional Mathematics
● 22 students achieved ten or more 7-9 grades.

GCSE Table

Governors and staff wish to congratulate students, their families and the staff. Their success is well deserved and prepares them well for future Level 3 courses. We look forward to welcoming students into Year 12 to begin the next stage of their education on Monday 4th September 2023.

Please be aware of the start date for your daughter’s new academic year group as we prepare to begin
the academic year 2023/24
● Year 7 - Monday 4th September 2023
● Year 8 - Tuesday 5th September 2023 - *Online learning Monday 4th September
● Year 9 - Tuesday 5th September 2023 - *Online learning Monday 4th September
● Year 10 -Tuesday 5th September 2023 - *Online learning Monday 4th September
● Year 11 - Monday 4th September 2023
● Year 12 - Monday 4th September 2023 - Internal students at 9.30am. External students and Student Mentors at 8.15am
● Year 13 - Monday 4th September 2023
*Those year groups who have online learning on Monday 4th September, work will be set on their new Year Group Google Classrooms. Work will be set by Maths, English, Science and RE. A register will also be available on their Year Group Google Classroom.
All students in Year 8,9,10 are expected to complete this work and hand it to the relevant subject teacher during their first lesson. Should this not be done, a Saturday detention will be set to complete the work.
The listing for the new form rooms will be published in school on the mornings of 4th and 5th September 2023 and should also be available on ARBOR on 1st September.


Information evenings to launch the new academic year
Lastly, I look forward to welcoming all parents/carers to their daughter’s relevant Information Evening which will take place both online and in person throughout September in the Marie Therese Hall starting at 6.30pm promptly. I share below the dates for ease of reference. Parking will be available on the school site. I encourage families to physically attend to meet key staff.
● Senior School - Year 12 and Year 13 - Wednesday 6th September
● Upper School - Year 10 and Year 11 - Wednesday 13th September
● Middle School - Year 8 and Year 9 - Wednesday 20th September
● Lower School - Year 7 - Thursday 28th September
I am looking forward to the new academic year and all the joy and challenges that it will undoubtedly bring as we work in partnership as one community enabling our young people to be the very best they can be.
With every good wish for an enjoyable Bank Holiday weekend and a smooth start to the new academic year, 2023/24.
