SIASS

SIASS is a statutory service which provides FREE, impartial, and accurate information, advice, and support on a wide range of topics for families of children and young people (0-25yrs) with a Special Educational Need or Disability.

We know your child’s legal rights and entitlements (we’re IPSEA trained), and we’re happy to support you in accessing what your child needs to succeed in education and to achieve their maximum potential in life!

Some examples of the support we can offer:

  • Meeting with parents and SENCOs to ensure the right SEN Support is in place.
  • Guidance for what to do next when there’s a problem with school or the Local Authority.
  • Support completing a request form for an EHCNA.
  • Answers about the EHCP process.
  • Support at Next Steps Meetings or Mediation with the Local Authority
  • Support in appealing to Tribunal when you disagree with an LA decision.
  • Support in preparing for an Annual Review or transition between schools.
