Congratulations to students for their A Level and BTEC results

Congratulations to all Year 13 students for their excellent A Level and BTEC results. This is the third year where students have sat the new reformed A level exams in most subjects, and the first year for Maths and Politics A level. Results were very pleasing with many students achieving above their target grades, due to the hard work of both students and staff.

The headline figures are as follows:

  • 35% of all entries were A* - A grades.
  • 59% of all entries were A* - B grades.
  • 83% of all entries were A*- C grades.
  • 100% pass rate in all A level and BTEC subjects.

Notable Achievements at A-Level

 

Rose Cottee was the top performing student in Year 13, achieving 3 A* grades. Rose has secured a place at the University of Bristol to read Law.

Vivian Nakamyuka achieved 3 Distinction-star grades securing a place at Kings College, London to study Paediatric Nursing.

A further six students achieved 3 Distinction grades:

The vast majority of students have achieved their first-choice places at University, including Ann-Marie Dweben who has secured a place at Cambridge to study Law.

Congratulations to all of our Year 13 students for all that has been achieved over the past two years.

All at St Philomena’s wish Year 13 students every success as they embark on a variety of courses at university, an apprenticeship, a gap year or employment. May I remind all students that they are always welcome back to St Philomena’s at any time.
