Curriculum

We aim to provide, for all pupils in all key stages, an entitlement curriculum which not only encompasses those elements required by law but which broadens, enriches and stimulates pupil learning.

The National Curriculum – Key Stage 3 -  Years 7, 8 and 9 Programme

CORE:                English, Maths, Science & Information Technology

FOUNDATION:     Art, French or Spanish, Geography, History, Music, Physical Education & Design Technology

Religious Education is not part of the National Curriculum but all schools are required by law to teach it. We provide a very rich and stimulating course for all pupils.

Sex Education is also a statutory requirement in Key Stages 3 and 4.

In addition to the above all pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 study Drama.

We operate a 35 period week.   Subject lessons are of 45 minutes duration in the case of single lessons, 1 hr 30 minutes in the case of practical lessons.

One of the tutor/PSE periods is of 20 minutes duration.
