Online Safety - Parental Engagement Workshop




Online Safety 30th January 2020 18.30-19.30 located in the KTC (Keller Training Centre)
We welcome Childnet International, a non-profit organisation, to talk to parents of girls of any age within the school about safer internet use. This workshop will aim to equip you with the knowledge you need to protect your daughter online and provide you with practical advice to implement at home.

- General context about young people’s internet use, the messages we give inschools, and the positives of the internet.
- Risks: conduct, content. Contact.
- Conduct: digital footprints, personal information, sexting.
- Content: inaccurate information, gaming & apps, adult content, extremist content.
- Contact: online friendships, geolocation, grooming, cyberbullying.
- Signposting to further help and resources.

Developing a whole school approach to parental engagement ensures that St Philomena's High School can best meet the needs of students and families in our local community.
