Parental Workshop - Emotional Health & Well-being

It is widely recognised within the education and mental health sectors that children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing has a huge impact on their ability to learn and achieve. We welcome Worth-it Emotional Wellbeing and Resilience to talk to you about how to help your daughter be more resilient and improve her emotional wellbeing. This workshop provides evidence-based sessions designed to give parents the space needed to reflect on family life and support them with tools and strategies to build their children’s resilience and improve wellbeing.

Key elements explored include:

  • Defining wellbeing and resilience
  • The benefits of positive relationships for wellbeing and resilience
  • Developing emotional awareness and the benefits of positive emotions
  • Developing resilient thinking skills
  • Using a strengths-based approach to develop resilience
  • Helping your child develop their strengths to maximise their success

The workshop will also provide some take away booklets of simple self-help activities that young people have found helpful in improving their wellbeing and resilience. It will take place on Wednesday14th November in the KTC at St Philomena's School from 18:30 - 20:00.
