Year 9 into 10 Options Evening - 17th January 2018

 

 

Due to the large numbers of parents, carers and students that normally attend this event, three different activities will take place at three different venues. The evening has been structured in this way to enable the maximum number of parents, carers and students to attend as many events as possible and to be able to have meaningful discussions. Further details of each event are given below.

 

Year 9 into 10 Transition; GCSE Options Event, Wednesday 17th January 2018

The aim of this evening is to give Parents and Students better understanding of which pathways and subjects they wish to study in years 10 and 11.

 

GCSE Options Pathways Presentation in the Marie Therese Hall (5pm and 6pm).

This will outline the process, support and learning pathways for Key Stage 4 at St Philomena’s

Information given at the 5pm presentation will be repeated at 6pm.

 

Subject Displays in the Dining Hall and Keller Training Centre, staffed throughout the evening (5pm - 7pm).

Key teaching staff and current Year 10 students will be available to offer advice and answer questions on their particular subject area.

 

Parental Engagement Careers Workshop in the Margaret Clitherow Hall (5pm or 6pm).

The Careers workshop for parents, carers and students will be delivered by Mrs Cretney, our Careers Coordinator. The workshop aims to provide careers advice and guidance on how to access interactive careers education resources that can be used to support your daughter in choosing her Key Stage 4 pathway.
