125th Anniversary - Founders Day

125th Anniversary - Founders Day, 13th September 2017

Founders Day at St Philomena’s School is a wonderful event in which the whole school participates in giving
thanks to the inspirational women of the Daughters of the Cross. The Daughters of the Cross founded our
school in 1893.
Founders Day begins by celebrating Mass for all students and staf, and then the whole school celebrated with
a Victorian Picnic Lunch on the Holy Lawn shared by students and teachers.
Fundraising activities took place after lunch, with all years, groups and tutors raising money for their house
charity. There was a Pyjama fun run around the school, “Hoedown Throwdon”, a whole series of activities from
line dancing to wellington tossing to pin the tail on the donkey and skipping.
Thank you to all parents / carers in supporting your daughter(s) in their fund raising efforts.
