Life and Figure Drawing
Year 12 and 13 Art students have been working alongside each other on a twelve week Life and Figure Drawing course at Sutton College. The course is run by, Brendan Murphy the Head of Art at the College. St Philomena's students really enjoyed the challenge of the drawings they have to complete each week. Zoe, a Year 13 student reported that, " It teaches us about about proportion and human anatomy. I appreciate working in the professional studio environment." Adrianna, also Y13 added that, "Brendan shows us different aspects of drawing the human anatomy. He shows us new and innovative ways of recording the human figure"
The A level Art students will be using the images they have drawn and painted as part of their portfolios for examination. Life drawing is seen as a super curricular activity that is valued by universities for applications to art, design and wider degree courses.
