Tate Modern Visit
Forty nine Year 11 GCSE Art students completed a full day study visit to Tate Modern and Tate Britain to research for their Art Controlled Assessment and Pre Public Exam. At Tate Modern the students researched and photographed from the wealth of painting, photography, sculpture, film and installation available of modern artists from around the world. The Tate Modern gives equal status to both male and female artists and to images created from all corners of the globe. The group took the fifteen minute, Tate to Tate Riverboat between the galleries over lunch. At Tate Britain students explored artwork from British artists from the Tudors to the present day. Students will be writing up their visit and research and preparing artwork in response to the artists that inspired them.
