Career Mark Quality Award
The engraved plaque for achieving the award in April 2015 is on display in Reception, near to Miss Noone’s office. With the support and contribution of staff and students, led by Mrs Cretney, Careers Coordinator; St Philomena’s successfully achieved this award for the school and revalidation was awarded in April 2017.
Career Mark is a National Quality Standard that schools can work towards and apply for. Having a quality award is a statutory recommendation that benchmarks a high standard of Careers education and advice and guidance in schools. Evidence is collated and matrixed against performance indicators in 4 areas:
- Advice, Guidance and Support
An external assessor checks all the evidence submitted electronically. The Assessor looks for validation of the evidence by conducting a school visit to speak to students from across all year groups as well as staff and views school careers resources and facilities. The process can take up to two years to achieve.
The Career Mark quality award logo is used on school documentation and resources to acknowledge the quality standard of our Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) provision. The award is valid for two years.
We are proud of our achievement of this award at St Philomena’s.
