Here is where you will find information about what we offer during PE lessons at St Philomena’s School, as well as extra-curricular activities, sporting events, fixtures and results.

We will endeavour to update the fixtures and results as often as possible.

Extra Curricular Activities:

We offer a number of extra-curricular clubs at both lunchtime and after school, providing students with an opportunity to further develop their skills learnt in curriculum time and to experience activities that we are unable to offer in curriculum lessons.

Most clubs are run by the PE staff, but we also hire in coaches for some of the clubs in order to maximise what we can offer.

A number of the clubs provide fantastic opportunities for students to compete for the school, either in local leagues, or nationwide competitions.

Lastly, for your information, all policies relating to PE are detailed below.

Many thanks for your continued support

At the start of each academic year all students are explained the PE Department Kit Policy. The policy follows the structure outlined below:

A “Kit Mark” is given to a student if they arrive at a lesson with either “no kit” or an “incomplete kit”.

  1. One kit mark = verbal warning and a demerit
  2. Two kit marks = break or lunch time detention and a demerit
  3. Three kit marks = one hour after school detention with the Head of Department and a demerit

All Kit Marks are cleared at the beginning of each term.

It is, however, vital that all students take responsibility for their belongings, are organised for lessons and are ready to learn.

Kit Marks will be monitored throughout each term.

If a sanction is actioned a school comms message will be sent home.
